The 332nd Fighter Group
The 332nd Fighter Group was the only Black American fighter group to serve in combat during the Second World War. They are famous for their bomber escorts as well as raids over enemy territory. The image shows Benjamin O. Davis, Jr., the group commander, and Edward Gleed standing next to the iconic P-51 Mustang.
