The 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion, or 'Six Triple Eight', as they were also known, was a battalion of Black American women serving in the Women's Army Corps, serving under the command of Major Charity Adams. It was the only unit of Black American women to serve in Europe during the Second World War. Their motto was "No mail, low morale".
